A little bit of history

DACYP is a Scottish Charity that has been in operation since 2005. We are an ecumenical organisation run, in the main, by lay Christians in the Dunbar Area. We are not affiliated to any of the local churches or denominations and operate as an independent organisation. We aim to respond to identified needs of young people in the local schools and community by demonstrating Christian love and compassion in practical ways and offering pastoral support where needed.

We wish to enable young people to explore the good news of the Christian faith, supporting them in the development of their personal beliefs, nurturing the faith of young Christians, and encouraging the acquisition of positive life skills by all.

DACYP has the support of most of the local churches and partners with them in delivering Youth Work provision in Dunbar and the surrounding areas.

DACYP is a member of

  • the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organizations (SCVO)
  • Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services (PVG’s
